PhotoCheckWP automatically checks every image your team uploads against the Google Cloud Vision API and flags potential copyright matches before they go live. Built for WordPress newsrooms.
AP, Getty, and Reuters don't send warnings. They send invoices.
One enforcement action
$1,250
Minimum. No warning. No negotiating room. Just a demand letter and a deadline.
PhotoCheckWP per year
$119.88
Every upload checked. Every decision logged. Running silently while your team works.
AP, Getty, and Reuters run active enforcement programs. A single unlicensed image can trigger a demand of $750 to $2,500 or more, arriving weeks after publication with no warning and no negotiating room. PhotoCheckWP puts a check between your editorial team and that bill.
Same workflow, same button, no training required. PhotoCheckWP checks to see if the image is on the web already, a sign that it might be copyrighted, as soon as the editor clicks the Upload button.
PhotoCheckWP checks it.
Every image is automatically run against the Google Cloud Vision API. The check takes a few seconds. You supply your own API key, which means you control your own usage, your own costs, and your own data. Nothing routes through us.
Matches are flagged.
If no match is found, PhotoCheckWP gets out of the way and your editor never sees it. If matches are found, a modal appears showing the top 4 exact matches from across the web. The editor cannot proceed until they either remove the image entirely or acknowledge it, logging their name, the timestamp, and the match results. That record lives in your audit log permanently.
Every decision is logged.
Clean images, flagged images, acknowledged images — all of it recorded permanently with the editor's name, the timestamp, and the match count. Your audit log is your documentation that the check happened.
Have questions about how PhotoCheckWP handles API failures, editor acknowledgments, or WordPress compatibility? See the FAQ.
PhotoCheckWP identifies images that appear elsewhere on the web. It does not determine ownership, confirm licensing status, or provide legal protection. It surfaces information and creates a record. What your team does with that information is an editorial decision.

I spent three hours on the phone with a law firm over a photo some reporter grabbed from Google Images. We settled for $600. I found PhotoCheckWP the next day. I put it on every site we run and I don't lose sleep over it anymore.

I write, I edit, I post to social, I manage the CMS, and apparently I'm also the one who has to explain to the publisher why we owe AP $1,250. PhotoCheckWP is the one thing on my list that actually runs itself.

I work with six clients. One copyright problem doesn't just cost money, it costs a client. I'm not taking that risk. PhotoCheckWP is cheaper than the anxiety.

I had no idea this was even a thing until I got an email from a law firm. I thought I was careful. Turns out careful isn't enough if you don't know the rules. Now I know, and now I have PhotoCheckWP.

We manage fourteen WordPress sites. One unlicensed image on one client site is our problem, not theirs. At $40 a month for all of them, it's the easiest line item I've ever justified.
PhotoCheckWP catches potential copyright problems before they go live and logs every upload your editors touch. A single AP enforcement action can cost $1,250.
For what that copyright settlement costs, you could have had PhotoCheckWP running for 10 years. Don't wait for the settlement letter. If you publish images, you need this.
