No Guarantee of Detection
PhotoCheckWP performs reverse image searches using the Google Cloud Vision Web Detection API. This technology does not guarantee detection of all unlicensed or infringing images. Images may go undetected for reasons including but not limited to:
- The image has been significantly cropped, resized, color-adjusted, or otherwise modified
- The image is not indexed in Google’s image database
- The original source is not publicly accessible on the web
- The Google Cloud Vision API returns incomplete or inaccurate results
The absence of matches does not mean an image is free of copyright restrictions. You are solely responsible for verifying the licensing and ownership of every image you publish.
No Confirmation of Licensing
A match result from PhotoCheckWP does not confirm that an image is infringing, and the absence of a match does not confirm that an image is licensed for use. PhotoCheckWP surfaces information for editorial review. It does not make legal determinations.
Editorial Responsibility
All decisions about whether to publish an image remain with you and your editorial staff. PhotoCheckWP provides a friction point and an audit trail. It does not prevent the publication of infringing content, and PhotoCheckWP, LLC accepts no responsibility for content published by users of the plugin.
Third-Party Services
PhotoCheckWP relies on the Google Cloud Vision API for image analysis. The accuracy, availability, and behavior of this service is outside the control of PhotoCheckWP, LLC. PhotoCheckWP, LLC makes no representations about the accuracy or completeness of results returned by Google’s API.
Limitation of Liability
PhotoCheckWP, LLC shall not be liable for any copyright enforcement actions, settlements, fines, legal fees, or other damages arising from your use or misuse of PhotoCheckWP, or from your reliance on plugin output in making editorial decisions.
